wide sea diving, the days of the birds to fly. everyone carries a dream of their own.
however, what is the dream? what is dream? dream is looking forward to, and the dream is strong - is fleeting dream you insist on the ideal as their courage and perseverance, are you responsible for their own highest level. but ask yourself, how many of us to accomplish his original dream in mind?
our dream is a simple belief, is a future and life of their own responsibility. perhaps, is the youth
grand ambitions; perhaps, is the adolescent confusion and impulsive; maybe just a plain desire, desire applause, eager for success. countless 'may,' innumerable 'hope' because of our youthful full of miracles, large and small dreams in our hearts, in every corner of life filled with fragrance.
only the ideal but no effort is useless. if you want to be a teacher, you should to study hard. if you want to be a player, you should do more e_ercises. if you want to become a businessman, he should learn to get along with people. for e_ample, my wish is to be a famous writer grew up, because i really love writing, so from now on, i should read more, more accumulate knowledge, and strive to improve writing level. no pains, no gains, because my efforts, so my article was punished in many newspapers , and in many composition contest, i see the success i'm happy, so, struggle is the bridge to the ideal.

maybe god wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
it's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! don't e_pect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours. it takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
don't go for looks; they can deceive. don't go for wealth; even that fades away. go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. find the one that makes your heart smile.

第2篇 英語演講稿:什么是真正的美?(英語演講材料)
what is real beauty?
yang lingyuan
it is human nature that all of us should be fond of beauty. everybody was born with a heart for beauty.
today in china, with the rising of our living standard, people's requirement of beauty has been heightened accordingly. some people spare no money or energy on beautiful clothes, fashionable hair styles, the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks. but it seems to me,all
these are more or less confined to the beauty in appearance,or rather, the outward beauty.
in my opinion,we shouldn't only pay attention to beautiful appearance and neglect the beautification of the mind and what we are after should be the perfect unity of the outward beauty and the inner beauty. as we all know,so far as objects and animals are concerned, there is only beautiful appearance to be mentioned, but to us humanbeings, although the outward beauty really matters, the inner beauty is much more important. this was confirmed by a famous russian writer in words much like this: 'a person is
not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely. '
here, i'd like to quote two typical instances and i'm sure, my dear friends, from them you'll find out what real beauty is.
recently i learned from the radio an unpleasant incident about a well known singer. she is very charming with a sweet beautiful voice and very famous for singing the song.'devotion of love'. not long ago,she was invited to zhejiang province to give performance. the moment she was to appear on the stage, she suddenly asked for more reward. worse still, after her request was satisfied, she didn't begin to sing at once. instead, she took her time to count all the money piece by piece. thus she kept the audience waiting for half an hour. so when she at last showed up and started to sing 'devotion of love',a man rose up from his seat and shouted at her,'you don't have any devotion of love. you are not qualified to sing this song ! 'hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the man. at this time the whole audience burst into an uproar.
how disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! it is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful image in the eyes of others.
now, i'm coming to another true story. it's about a poor, ordinary looking old woman. she was a widow without any children, living barely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. however, she took in more than ten homeless orphans successively and managed to bring them up. every day she labored from morning till night. in order to earn as much money as possible to raise the children and to keep them in school, she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. she got so weak for the loss of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home.
when asked why she chose to burden herself with so many children, she smiled and simply answered,'oh,i love children and i like to have their company. '
though the old woman was poor materially, she was full of affection and rich in spirit. she was loved dearly by her children. she was also highly appreciated by the local government, and truly respected by people in her community.
maybe you can't help wondering, 'what makes that ordinary woman so e_traordinary?' it is nothing else but her inner beauty, her true devotion of love without any thought of rewarding. what a sharp contrast there is between the great woman and the selfish singer]
so,to answer the question 'what is real beauty?', i declare definitely,it is the beauty lying in one's heart of hearts and embodied in his actions and deeds, that is,the inner heauty!

during his presidency, bill clinton seized important opportunities on issues from welfare to free trade. he was a tireless champion of peace in the middle east. he used american power in the balkans to confront aggression and halt ethnic cleansing. and in all his actions and decisions, the american people sensed a deep empathy for the poor and the powerless. shortly before leaving office, president clinton said, 'christ admonished us that our lives will be judged by how we do unto the least of our neighbors.' throughout his career, bill clinton has done his best to live up to that standard. and americans respect him for it. at every stage of his remarkable life, president clinton has made and kept countless friends, who share in the joy of this day. and three people in particular have the largest part in this remarkable story. one day more than 30 years ago, inside the yale law library, a fellow student walked over to bill clinton and said, 'if you're going to keep staring at me, and i'm going to keep staring back, we ought to at least know each other's name. mine's hillary rodham. what is yours?'that was a good day for both of them, and the beginning of a partnership unique in american history. so today, we honor the former first lady of arkansas, the former first lady of america, the united states senator from new york, senator hillary rodham clinton.
perhaps the clintons' greatest achievement is their daughter, who moved into the white house as a young girl, and left as an accomplished young lady. it's not easy to be a teenager in the white house, but it's a lot easier when you have a loving mother and a loving father that chelsea clinton had.
this magnificent presidential library, and the american life it celebrates, would not have been possible without the love and sacrifice of a special lady. among his heroes, president clinton always includes his mother, virginia kelley, 'a working woman and a widow.' virginia was there when her son took the oath of office, and we know that she would be incredibly proud of this day.
the story that began in a little house on hervey street in hope, arkansas is the kind of story that inspires people from every background, all over america. in this great nation, it is always possible for a child to go as far as their talent and vision can take them. visitors to this place will be reminded of the great promise of our country, and the dreams that came true in the life of our 42nd president. the william j. clinton presidential library is a gift to the future by a man who always believed in the future. and today, we thank him for loving and serving america.

that's the american dream. that's what this country was built on. and that's what we'redetermined8 to restore.
in order to do that, it's time to have a fair ta_ structure, one that values paychecks as much as unearned income and inherited wealth, to take some of the burden off of the middle class. it's time to close ta_ loopholes so we can reduce the deficit9, and invest in rebuilding america - our bridges, our ports, our highways, rails, providing good jobs.
with corporate10 profits at near record highs, we should encourage corporations to invest more in research and development and the salaries of their employees. it's time for us to invest in educational opportunity to guarantee that we have the most highly skilledworkforce11 in the world, for 6 out of every 10 jobs in the near term is going to require some education beyond high school. folks, it's long past due to increase the minimum wage that will lift millions of hardworking families out of poverty target poverty and in the process produce a ripple12 effect that boosts wages for the middle class and spurs economic growth for the united states of america. economists13 acknowledge that if we do these and other things, wages will go up and we'll increase the gross domestic product of the united states.
my fellow americans, we know how to do this. we've done it before. it's the way we used to do business and we can do it that way again. all the middle class in this country want is a chance. no guarantee, just a chance.
americans want to work. and when given a fair shot, the american worker has never, ever, ever, let his country down. folks, it's never a good bet to bet against the american people.
thanks for listening.

ladies and gentlemen, this is joe biden, i'm filling in for president obama, while he addresses the nato summit in wales.
when the president and i took office in january of __, this nation was in the midst of the greatest economic crisis since the great depression. our economy had plummeted1 at a rate of 8% in a single quarter-part of the fastest economic decline any time in the last half century. millions of families were falling underwater on their homes and threatened with foreclosure. the iconic american automobile2 industry was under siege.
but yesterday's jobs report was another reminder3 of how far we've come. we've had 54 straight months of job creation. and that's the longest streak4 of uninterrupted job growth in the united states' history.
we've gone from losing 9 million jobs during the financial crisis to creating 10 million jobs. we've reduced the unemployment rate from 10% in october of __ to 6.1% today. and for the first time since the 1990s, american manufacturing is steadily5 adding jobs-over 700,000 since __. and surveys of both american and foreign business leaders confirm that america once again is viewed as the best place in the world to build and invest.
that's all good news.
but an awful lot of middle class americans are still not feeling the effects of this recovery. since the year __, gross domestic product-our gdp - has risen by 25%. and productivity in america is up by 30%. but middle class wages during that same time period have gone up by only fourteen cents.
folks, it's long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. that's what built the middle class. it's time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.
